Alligators are crocodilian in the genus Alligator of the family Alligatorida. Alligators are large, meat-eating reptiles that spend a lot of their lives in the water. They mostly live in fresh water swamps, marshes, canals to brackish water and almost all lakes of the world. Alligators are known to be good shimmers as they have webbed feet and by using their tails to propel themselves through the water,Just like their crocodile cousins.
